Portugal thought the English what is football. They taught the English that you can't get away with a 3rd minute fluke goal.. what more if it's set up by an ex Liverpool goalie and scored by an off form Liverpool striker. The formula is just not right. True enough, postiga got the goal and rui costa added the heart ache but thank for one more lucky fluke goal. Than came the embarrassing penalty shoot out
England Al Kapitan David Beck-side blamed this patch of grass for not scoring his penalty when all the other Portuguese players had no problems with it. Beckside's shot wasn't an awful shot... it was horrendous!!! I think he makes me look good taking a penalty.
Hero of the day... Ricardo, saving a penalty with his bare hands.. no gloves.. and he steps up and puts the final touch to Portugal's quarter-final victory. Hat's off to Portugal for the victory. I only wished they finished off England at regular time so I could go to sleep earlier and not have to go through an extra 45 minutes of "kan cheong-ness". England didn't looked like winning, they sucked last night. Even though I'm an ardent England fan, I admit that Portugal were the better team. England could not even string 5 decent passes together. It showed too that they relied too much on Rooney. Vassell was crap and so was Owen. All the players played like crap except Ashley Cole who did such a fantastic job to ward off Ronaldo. If only all the English players played like Cole... things would have been different. Sven-goran Eriksson should have put Heskey in since they were going long ball all the way. You want small fry owen to collect long balls at the end?? Come On Coach!!
I say again, I wished Portugal finished England off earlier so I could have had more rest.
On another note, out of soccer... I thought through my hand phone issue and this time round it was harder for me to give thanks for that situation. It was easier when I had my accident. But I prayed hard and I do thank God now that my car keys did not fall out of my beg. That would have been worse, some one picks up the car key and drives off with my car. Loosing RM1700 hand phone and loosing RM80,000 car... Thank you God. I also thank God for the lesson's he thought me through this incident.
Got me-self a new mobile today. Went to Sg. Wang, didn't know which stall to go to, so how do you choose a hand phone stall to go to?? Choose the one with the cutest sales assistant. Problem was this time, there wasn't any cute assistant as I think they all went out for lunch. So no choice had to settle for a batang sales assistant. But this guy sure looks like Adrian Yap from the band Furniture and ex-TBB front-man. I felt like calling him and ask him if he had a ah beng brother working as a hand phone sales man.
Guess that's it for now. Have to go to my MD's wedding dinner now in Chinoz Bangsar. Oh one more thing, I'm moving office next month because rental has increased. So looks like Cyberjaya office is coming to pass much earlier after all. Shoots man, Cyberjaya is so boring and there's nothing to eat there.. I'll miss the cute girls of KLCC, cute ah lians of sg. wang, shopping at low yatt and Imbi!! The food!!! It's civilization to non-civilization!!
