Spain out!! Portugal in!! Greece surprise!! Holland suffers!!

The title speaks it all..!! The Spanish is out!! So all those who have been voting for Spain in Isaac Yap's poll can stop voting because the Spanish team has gone back to bull fighting. I tell you all that Greece is going to make the semi finals... I think they are going to beat the French fries in the quarters. What a disappointment for Holland, I know Jon Lee is mega upset lar.. Hey I would be also ... leading 2-0 and end up 3-2 on the loosing end. Almost similar to the England France experience. Talking about England, it's THE DAY for England tonight... it's either they make it or don't make it. Only way for England to go through is a straight forward win from Croatia. If not, hope that the switz beats the French and England draw with the Croats. Man.. I just hope Rooney scores a hatrick and James don't fumble any ball man.. !! Anyway enough of football..
Friday - 18/06/04 Went to the MPO for Count Basie and MPO combine concert. It was like heaven listening to the songs after songs by the MPO and Count Basie big band. It's my first experience going live for a string and brass combined big band. Words just can't explain the feeling when you're there. The only set back was that we were at the first row, so sometimes when the trumpets hit the high notes, it's a bit too much on the ears. But overall it was a blast. It was our first time seeing our dear Uncle Keng in a suit also. I'll try and have a picture post up later so all can see our Uncle Indie Rocker in a suit. If any of his Indie buddies see him in that, Keng will be gigging in either MPO or Istana Budaya. We went to Soul Out to celebrate Justin's Birthday after the concert. Suppose to get him drunk but didn't managed to. Closest thing we got him to alcohol was a tiramisu cake. Also watched the whole Denmark - Bulgaria match in Soul Out. What a way to celebrate a buddy's birthday. This blog is for my dude Justin Lim who has been my friend for almost 10 years now. You rock man!!!
Saturday - 19/06/04 Day started at 6am. Had to fetch my parents from the airport. It sure was hard to wake up as I slept like 2 hours before that after the Italy Sweden game. I thought my sis would keep me awake on the trip to the airport but she was soundly asleep the whole way to the airport. Had breakfast in the airport because my parent's luggage was delayed. I wonder who said that KLIA had the best baggage handling system...??? I think it was our dear TUN Dr. Ling. Anyway by the time we got home I had to head off straight to church for The Edge post mortem meeting. Praise God that the deficit for the conference was quite small, not as big as we the committee anticipated. Went for food sharing with some YC leaders in Jalan Sultan. Man Jalan Sultan is so clean now compared to the last time I went there like 3 years ago. 3 years ago I could still see needles up the druggies' neck and arms... now the place is just clean... I am so amazed by the improvement. Anand was the hero of the day, dressing up a druggie's leg which had worms eating into it until you can see his bones. On a side note, on the way for the food sharing, Scott who enjoyed himself so much at the MPO the night before wanted to go back on Monday, so after much persuading, we're both going back on Monday. You can see he so kan chiong in van making all the calls to the MPO asking me for my credit card and all. If only his administration skill can be so effective for other areas.... hehehehe... sorry scott just wanted to take a shot at you. Was suppose to follow Isaac, Sue Ann, Yuen Wei all for Starlight Cinema. But I got home at 5pm and thought I take a short nap because I was so exhausted by than. I slept at about 5:30pm and woke up at 12:30am and continued sleeping until 6:30am for church. But I tell you the sleep was good.
Sunday - 20/06/04 It was church as usual... we had Lorrie Miller as our speaker. When I heard Lorrie, I thought it was going to be a lady but it was a man. Anyway one of the shortest message I've ever heard sweet and simple. Went for lunch with Isaac, Bel, Jon Yap, macha Kevin, Sue Ann, Yuen, Jon and Alvin in One Utama. We had Vietnamese for lunch. I went grocery shopping after lunch, you see my sister entrusted me with the resposibility of organising dinner for Father's day so I decided cook and have my family over at my place. Yes, I can see big bulging eyes... yes yes Mark Tan can cook more than maggi mee and steam rice. I went to Giant in One Utama and was deciding what to cook... chinese, indian or western.. I remembered my dad expressed that he wanted italian for father's day dinner once so Italian it was. I made fresh button mushroom with potato chunks soup for entree and my special pasta ala bolognese for main course. Mind you the bolognese sause is not from the jar as found from the shelves of supermarket. It's made from scratch!! It's a Mark Tan specialty bolognese sauce, developed over the time when he was bored in Australia. You'll have to taste it to believe it.. hehehe.. Anyway I as usual, I cooked too much so now there's an abundance of spaghetti in my fridge. But I'm glad my dad enjoyed and family enjoyed it. It was so satisfying to see my dad enjoy his meal and said that this is one of the best father's day he has had!! Actually home cook father's day meal is so much cheaper than taking dad out to some fancy restaurant to eat... good on the pocket too.
Sharks, this turned out to be one extremely long entry.. anyway sorry if I bored you to death!! I hope you all have a good week ahead!!!!
    GO ENGLAND!!!
