Had a wonderful weekend or rather if I could even count it as a weekend because me together with my household spent half the Saturday sleeping. We had a late Friday night at a friend's place having dinner for all the new people who had just arrived in Adelaide. Dinner was short but we played lots of card game that lasted through out the whole night from pig to mafia and to this game which I am so addicted to now called Warlord and Scumbeg..!! Too long to explain it here but I'll be sure to introduce it when we all get back from Adelaide. Sheen and Gracie came over for dinner on Sunday night we played that game from 10:30pm all the way to 2:30am... that was how addictive the game was and gor Gracie who has never played card game.. man she fried us quite a few times.
Played for Kidszone here in Paradise. Yes, you heard me right.. Mark Tan was in Heng Ian's Kidszone band. I actually don't know how I ended up playing. All I remember was Heng Ian telling me to join his band (yes, he calls it his band) for jamming on Thursday night and the next thing I know.. I was playing on Sunday. It was fun, my hands was itchy to play the bass so any opportunity to play is good. Thanks for the opportunity Heng Ian, sorry I played like crap though.. not use to the new Planet Shakers songs. Speaking of planet shakers... those of you who has gotten hold of the new PS album, you're only allowed to teach YC track 4. Track 3 is totally ban!!! I mean totally BAN!! Hock will make sure or that.
Some thoughts are running through my head now after I've attended a few of my classes that are related to the doctrines of the Bible. After going through like 3 of those classes, I realised that reading the Bible actually requires faith. We were told today that the Bible is all true but not all truth. That means that the Bible records everything correctly and accurately to a certain extent but it records all the bad things too. Problem, do we see the bad things? Most of my christian life I've been reading the bible and believing in the bible based on what has been consistently thought to me by my parents, sunday school teacher and pastors and it's become a mindset that I don't question the bible for what's it for. But after attending those classes, I don't have doubts that the bible is true but I have questions regarding how we interprate what is recorded as good and what is recorded as bad. We've been following commentaries of authors on how they inteprate the bible and that's what I question that how come that intepreatation becomes correct? Even the theologians agree that the bible of today is a modern day translation and not a book that is whole from God. So this has promted me to now read the bible with more concern not because I'm affraid I've been con but by reading in that frame allows the word of God to mean more. It's thru that, that we mean God's word minister to the being. That's how the word come alive. I'm still at a lost at thoughts and words to pen down for now. I hope to be able to deepen my thoughts on this in the near future. Like I said, just finish class only so a lot of questions so need some time to think through.
