missing home

It has so far been a roller coaster 3 months here in Adelaide, Australia. Although it is apparent that I am not home sick but I do miss home. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, my cozy apartment in good old Petaling Jaya. Often I wondered, what makes me really miss home so much? So I decided to compile a list. In no particular ranking, why I miss Malaysia so much:

1. My cozy apartment, able to stretch and lounge out on my sofa bed in my underwear without any worry of anybody around and just channel surf through all the astro channels and slowly fall asleep while watching a repeat of "The Practice".

2. Youth Church. The worship, the sermons, the head banging, catching Joshua Chang going to the toilet every 5 minutes and seeing unc mike getting pissed at that.

3. All of Hock Seng's fumble during his chairing and sharing.

4. Every wednesday night footie. I miss standing between the goal post, seeing Keng Lee fake injuries, seeing Terry and Paul trying to prove that they are good footballers to stefan, most of all ... the mamak after footie.

5. Jamming with my mates. I miss playing with my mates, 3 months here in Adelaide and I still haven't seen anybody coming near the skill of Sim Keng Lee and Justin Lim. Even with her reverie taking a break, I miss playing for worship with my mates. You guys are still the best musos I'm played with.

6. Working in the corporate world. I miss the rat race, the deadlines, the back stabbing, the stupid clients, the smart intimidating clients. Believe it or not, I actually miss Hobs, the stupid white American boss I had. Last I heard he got fired for not performing and his wife left him. Poor guy.

7. The late night mamak sessions. The Indomee goreng, the curry mee and chicken in SS2 mamak, the trash talks and countless kutuking of Sue.

8. My car. I miss taking my car to the car wash, to the mechanic.

9. My hair stylist Ling. I miss the experimental hair style she tries on me. Her perky little smile.

10. Most of all, I miss my parents and sister very very much, aunty uncles and everyone I know back home.
