a close to a good chapter

Mamak Night has finally come and gone and a success it was. We had about 430 people turning up and had to turn away close to another 230 people. All in all, though some glitches here and there, I think the night went very well. I am so honoured to have worked with such wonderful and dedicated people to make Mamak Night a success. Now I understand why everyone raves about Mamak Night from last year. Everyone played such a crucial role. I am honestly blown away by such dedicatedness. I was very happy to hear that we the international students pulled off one of the biggest outreach events of the year in Powergen. All glory to God for the success. I honestly have not leaned on God so much for a long time. This whole event has thought me full trust in the Lord and full faith in Him.

I think the highlight of the night for Kam Fwei, Raymond and me delivering all the McDonalds Orange Bowls,  Aunty Lian's cooking stuff, the BBQ pits and fryers all around Adelaide up to 3:30 in the morning at butt freezing cold temperatures of 4 degrees celcius when everyone is tucked in nicely in  their covers. The best was transfering all the goods in the trailer to my car as quiet as possible so we didn't had to wake the whole neighbourhood up at Klemzig. No wonder my fever cannot seem to subside.

I've also just finished my 40 days of cafine fast. Life without coffee and especially Coke is so so so hard, and I realised that during the fast that tea had caffine in them and so I could not even drink tea and chinese tea. Some of you may not know, starving me off caffine is like starving a girl of her ice-cream or make-up. The immense cold turkey that I had to go through to starve off Coke, my staple health drink for all this year. Now I can look forward to my 5 cups of coffee and 2 littres of Coke a day again.

I also forgot one other thing. Having a indie gig right next to mamak night isn't a good idea. As yours faithful here "dodged" a bit of his duty and ran to check out the gig. Not bad, finally got to hear this band Wendy Icon play. Been wanting to catch them so at least caught them for one song.

Some pictures I managed to snapped from Mamak Night 2005 @ UniSA, CityWest.

This is as mamak as it can get, "hygiene" is top priority.

A not so clear picture of the wonderful and fanatic hard dedicated people I had such great honour to work with.

I also like to congratulate 2 wonderful friends of mine who have just gratuated. Mr. Raymond "teh-tarik-king" Poh and Wendy who without Wendy, there wouldn't have been a Mamak Night. She almost single handedly pulled Mamak Night together.
